  1. Preparation of ingredients
    1. Wash the basil leaves and dry them gently. Peel the garlic cloves. Grate the Parmesan cheese.
  2. Blending ingredients
    1. In a food processor, combine basil leaves, garlic, pine nuts, grated Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Process until finely chopped.
  3. Adding the oil
    1. While the food processor is running, gradually add the olive oil. Continue to process until the pesto is fully combined and smooth.
  4. Storing the pesto
    1. The pesto can be used right away, or stored in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to one week.
