Caesar salad is a classic dish featuring crisp romaine lettuce, crunchy croutons, and grated Parmesan cheese, all tossed in a tangy, creamy dressing made with garlic, lemon, anchovies, and Dijon mustard. Often topped with grilled chicken, it's a bold and savory salad perfect for a satisfying meal or side.

  1. Prepare the lettuce
    1. Wash and chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Make the croutons
    1. Cut the bread into cubes. Toss with 30 ml olive oil and minced garlic. Bake at 180°C for 10 minutes.
  3. Grate the cheese
    1. Finely grate the Parmesan cheese and set aside.
  4. Prepare the dressing
    1. Mash the anchovy fillets and mix with egg yolk, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, 30 ml olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Assemble the salad
    1. In a large bowl, toss the chopped romaine lettuce with the dressing until coated.
  6. Add cheese and croutons
    1. Top the salad with grated Parmesan cheese and croutons just before serving.
